One of my favorite steps in my skin care routine is when I hydrate my skin, the refreshing sense of life being sucked back into your skin after a good cleanse feels amazing. I’m usually more daring when it comes to switching up my facial toner compared to my face wash or any other facial products, which is why I have some good recommendations for my oily skin sista’s.
Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner: My go-to-never-fails-me toner is the Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner, this product has never steered me wrong. Its a solid 8/10 for me because it doesn’t dry out my skin and really helps collect any left over makeup/dirty that my cleanser didn’t take off. This toner comes in handy when I feel a breakout coming on because of the witch hazel that is an astringent and helps fight off acne. The one down side I would say is that this toner isn’t the most hydrating, however it will leave a refreshing and clean sensation.
AMWAY Artistry Hydra-V Fresh Toner: Currently, I have been using this toner instead of my Thayer’s and I am honestly very impressed. Similar to the Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner, it doesn’t dry out my skin and leaves a very refreshing finish. The difference between the two toners is the hydration, it leaves my skin feeling plump, clean and moisturized. I usually struggle with hormonal break outs, however since I’m pregnant and taking prenatal vitamins I haven’t had those issues. I’m curious to see how my skin would react with my usual breakouts or skin issues after birth. Even though I am raving about this toner one thing that throws me off is the cost, which is $25 for a 2oo mL. I have no problem paying for products that work for me but in my honest opinion I believe that price is a bit much for the results I’ve gotten. The Thayer’s Toner has 355mL for $10 and has similar results. I suppose it depends on what your looking for, clean with an astringent or clean and hydrated?
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution: Before I started using the Amway Artistry Hydra-V Fresh Toner I ordered The Ordinary toner, however my order was lost and I haven’t had a chance to reorder it. So I went ahead and gave the Hydra-V a shot but once I’m done with the Hydra-V toner this product is up next to try. I’ve heard great things about it so I’m eager to see what the results are specially for the texture and big pores on my cheeks. The cost of the Ordinary toner is $16 for 255 mL, which might be the middle ground between the Thayer’s and the Hydra-V toners. I’ll report back and let you guys know how this toner worked and if I’ll replace my other toners.
Until then please give me some recommendations, I would love to try out something different. Have a great weekend!
